Which Auckland services are actually punctual?

Auckland Transport measures punctuality only at the first and last stop. This site measures it at every stop — because passengers rarely ride a route end to end. Below: operators ranked, a stop-level map, and how our method differs from AT's official one.

AT's official definitions

Reliable: the service ran and left the first stop between 1 minute early and 10 minutes late.

Punctual: left the first stop between 1 minute early and 5 minutes late, and arrived at the last stop no more than 5 minutes late.

In 2023/24 AT reported 94% reliable, 88% punctual under this first/last-stop method.

Our method

We record the actual delay at every intermediate stop, keeping only observations the vehicle has already passed (never predictions).

We also surface “ghost buses” — trips that were scheduled but never appeared — kept separate from cancellations.

Percentages are “within 5 minutes of schedule” (1 min early to 5 min late), aligned to AT's threshold.
